Contest Gives Moss the Chance of a "Lifetime" - Fox 21 Sports - August 16, 2009
All US Play It Again Sports hockey stores ran a sweepstakes Nov.15 - Dec. 31, 2008 sponsored by Bauer Hockey US and Play It Again Sports. Stores were sent promotional materials and customers were directed to sign up for a chance to win "The Practice of a Lifetime."
The entries were sent to a clearinghouse and in February a winner was drawn. Then the wait began. It was determined that no practice could take place until after the NHL playoffs and chosen NHL player to lead the practice, Phil Kessel also underwent surgery. Finally, the practice was set for August 15th. It took awhile, but if you ask the winner, Kyler Moss, it was well worth the wait!
On Saturday, August 15, Kyler Moss of Superior Wisconsin and 20 of his teammates took the ice for a hockey practice led by Phil Kessel with the Boston Bruins. There were about 300 spectators at the practice and everyone had the opportunity for autographs and to enter a drawing for giveaways from Bauer Hockey. Chris Stenberg, owner of the Superior store and Darrell Spencer, owner of nearby Duluth store were able to participate in this momentous event.
