HALF BACK SKI PROGRAM

We sell hundreds of new skis every season and a big reason why is because of our half back program. Here is why OUR half back is SUPERIOR to our competitions:

1) You get TWO FULL ski seasons (ie 730 days from date of purchase. Most stores you get the remainder of this ski season only).

2) It's for ADULTS TOO not just kids. As adults advance in their skill level, they might want more expensive skis.

3) You can use the credit for ANYTHING in the store, not just new skis. You can redeem them for second hand skis next time, or a snowboard or anything you want (ie skates, a bike...) in case you decide you don't like skiing.

 The details:

If you buy a package of NEW skis and NEW bindings on December 15, 2024 for $249.99 and bring them back before December 14, 2026 (730 days later), we will give you a store credit for $125 ($249.99 X ½=$125) which can be used in this store anytime within the following year. So the new skis and the bindings will end up only costing $124.99, excluding taxes.

Boots and poles are not part of the half back program but we do re-buy those based on condition just like we buy equipment for the other sports we sell. 

Cheaper than Renting!!!

Lots of parents enroll their kids for 8 ski lessons at Earl Bales (Sheppard & Bathurst). From the City Of Toronto website, in the age category we clicked, 8 ski lessons cost $TBD FOR 2024 or $TBD FOR 2024 if you need to rent equipment. A difference of $TBD FOR 2024 . The lessons are 1 hour and you line up each week to get the stuff (one half hour before the lesson begins) and you must return it each week (one half hour after the lesson ends).

Our equipment could cost around $190.00 ($125 on the half back skis/bindings + about $50 on used boots and about $15 on used poles (used pole and boot prices depend on inventory available). So you already SAVED $TBD FOR 2024 and 1) you dont have to line up every week 2) you can ski as many days as you want for as long as you want 3) you dont have to rent equipment if you want to ski some other time (I would think every parent who enrolls their kid in ski lessons would also want to ski with their kid at least once sometime that winter) and 4) You get to use your stuff for 2 YEARS-NOT 8 HOURS.

So you can save about $TBD FOR 2024 in year one, and a lot more if you would have had to rent again the next season from Earl Bales.

After 2 years, parents have the option of keeping the equipment if they'd like to get another year or want to hand down to a younger brother/sister. They can then bring back the equipment whenever for our normal buy/trade/consign options. This will still be better for them financially than renting.

HALF BACK JR SKATE OPTION

Most coaches agree, the better you can skate, the better the hockey player you'll be. Unfortunately, skating better can require a skate of better quality which usually costs more. To help offset that extra expense, we are pleased to announce a HALF BACK program on select new junior and youth sized skates.

Here is how it works:

a) Buy a new skate in junior or youth size from the list below.

b) bring them back to Play It Again Sports-North York within 365 days, with the original receipt.

c) we'll give you a store credit for half of what you paid, excluding taxes.

d) Spend the store credit, now or later, on ANYTHING YOU WANT in the store.

For example, buy a new pair of eligible skates for $229.99 on October 3, 2024 and return them by October 2, 2025 we'll give you a store credit for $115 that you can use to buy anything in the store, new or used, within the following year!

Why is our HALF BACK program better than the competition's?

i) Most of our competitors do not offer this. 

ii) The one store that does offer half back, you may only redeem the credit for new skates again next year. Good for most customers, but what if your child decides they prefer a different sport, or you find a less expensive second hand pair or ???
